Integrating Six Sigma with Business Process Management
Business process needs a lot of thinking, evaluation, and decision making. But, with the implementation of Six Sigma, the process actually gets a little easier. The Six Sigma can be implemented in the different departments of a business. But, for most of the practitioners applying Six Sigma, they often think that this process is actually hard when pointing out better opportunities upon applying its techniques. Also, it is a fact that there are a lot of Six Sigma projects available that are overlapping with each other.
With the help of Six Sigma, a business process will be able to see important and helpful opportunities that will go together with its goals. Integrating the Six Sigma process when managing a business is actually beneficial compared to the traditional processes made by a certain business. Not being able to implement the Six Sigma process can actually give a negative effect to the business so managing the process is actually very important.
When owners or operators evaluate their businesses, they often think of what business process should be improved, when to improve it, by how much, and others. This evaluation will help them realize their strategic objectives. Knowing the answers to these questions will actually help business owners to know where they should apply the techniques of the Six Sigma and to know its results. Being able to implement a standard technique on business processes would actually result to a more collaborated department and lesser overlapping techniques.
Application of business processes is greatly evaluated by business owners. They give importance to the reliability of the process to make sure that they come up with the best results. There are executives in the business who are actually monitoring the performance of these processes to ensure efficiency.
When businesses have already evaluated the performance of these processes, they can now decide on important matters involving the operations of the business. The owners can now compare the advantages and disadvantages of their latest method or their traditional method. The business will then decide if they will redesign their old techniques involving DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control), or absorb change to their operations by using the latest method of DFSS (design for six sigma).
